I am not your average North Carolinian.

I am currently a brand strategist in Los Angeles, delving daily into the minds of others attempting to generate a deeper understanding of consumer audiences. Prior to embarking on my adventures on the West Coast, I spent all of two years at the Virginia Commonwealth University Brandcenter studying communication strategy. That’s shorthand for planning. Before that I was a student of Renaissance history and culture in Florence, Italy. That was after I studied Japanese for five years and wrote a paper on the similarities between the samurai code and the code of the Wild West. And even as a child, I knew I wanted to be a paleontologist digging up dinosaur bones in Nevada when I grew up.
